Your Session

FAQ:

When should I book my session?
The earlier the better, I only take a limited number of sessions per month to ensure the highest level of quality and service. If you are pregnant and want newborn pictures taken, let me know your due date a few months in advance so I can plan ahead. And remember newborns pictures should be taken before they are ten days old, so put my number in your "important people to call or text" list after the baby is born.

What types of sessions do you offer?
I offer newborn, children, family, and lifestyle sessions.

When do I pay you and what payments do you accept?
Your session fee is due at the time of booking. I accept cash, check or credit cards (invoiced through paypal)  All print orders can be paid through the website shopping cart in your gallery.

Are all shots posed?
I understand that kids can be tired, nervous, or grumpy - but sometimes these expressions can be the most precious! So please do not feel pressured to have your child be perfect during the session - encourage them to relax and have fun. I will have them "pose" for some shots, but I will also let them play and be kids and capture them being themselves.  I am very flexible and love to try to new things, so please feel free to share your ideas or thoughts with me.

How do we see our pictures after you have taken them?
An unlimited number of photographs will be taken during your session, generally 25-35 images will be presented to you in your online gallery. I will select the best photos to be processed and then I will provide you with a password to view your proofs in a private gallery.

How long does it take to get my pictures?
You can expect your photos to be online around a week after your session. Please allow an additional week for lab printing. Your gallery will be online for 2 weeks, all orders must be placed within that time. Due to space requirements on my site, all galleries will be removed and there will be a $15 rehosting fee after the two-week time period. A sneak peek will be posted on facebook within a day or two.

What happens if there is bad weather?
I will call you to reschedule if its raining or very windy.

What do I need to bring to my session?
If your child's pictures are indoors I provide backdrops, blankets, and small props. I also have lots of newborn headbands, bows and hats to pick from.
If you want any special items in your pictures, feel free to bring them along and I will try to incorporate it into the pictures. Examples are baskets, crates, crocheted blankets, wagon's, pearl necklaces or your child's favorite teddy bear or toy.

What do I wear?
Its best to avoid any clothing with logos. Try to match, but not perfectly. If you all want to wear the same color....try to get them in different shades. For children, I love mixing different patterns and textures together. Pick out the first outfit and coordinate to that. If its multicolored, pick out a color or two for your other child/children (or parents) and match to that. Pinterest has great "what to wear guides"  Newborns are best photographed naked or with a diaper cover on.
